Who We Are

EDI Building Consultants, Inc. (EDI) was founded by Philip J. Sumang, Matthew M. Hoffman, and Edward S. Breeze, who were each Principal Engineers at their former company. Collectively, they possess over 65 years of experience providing consulting services for new and existing structures. The depth of experience in our staff of professionals includes formal training in engineering, as well as hands-on construction experience. As a corporation, EDI has successfully performed consulting services addressing the needs of public-sector and private-sector clients.

EDI Building Consultants, Inc. is a consulting engineering firm that designs, investigates, and rehabilitates structures and building enclosures. We specialize in the evaluation of construction problems with existing buildings, designing remedies for those problems, and assisting in the resolution of related disputes. Our reputation is based on successfully solving our clients’ problems in a timely and cost-effective manner. Our leadership in professional societies allows us the opportunity to stay several years ahead of our competitors technically by writing and reviewing proposed standards and technical papers well ahead of their actual publication. Our company is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and has a branch office located in Cleveland, Ohio.
