Our staff includes licensed engineers, CAD technicians, field technicians and office support personnel. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, our team has been serving our local and national clients for over 20 years.
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Philip J. Sumang, P.E., MBA – President/Principal Engineer
Philip Sumang serves as the President of EDI and has extensive experience with overseeing and monitoring remedial construction projects, including disaster-recovery, structural design, building envelope, forensic projects and civil and R.O.W. He has a Civil Engineering degree from Marquette with a structural emphasis, and an MBA in finance from Rice University. Philip has over 20 years of engineering and facilities consulting experience. He is a registered professional engineering and forensic expert in the area of building envelope systems and waterproofing. He is an active member in professional organizations and participates in writing and reviewing construction standards. He is an active member of the Steer Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as various other technical organizations.
Annie L Sumang Associate AIA – Director of Operations and Business Development
Annie Sumang serves two roles at EDI: Director of Operations as well as Director of Business Development. As Director of Operations, she oversees the daily business operation, including formulating and implementing company policies, managing staff, overseeing all financial aspects of the business, as well as developing and implementing the technical training for the company.
As the leader of Business Development, Annie focuses on strategy to develop and improve EDI’s market position to achieve financial growth, including new business development, client retention, business development planning and market research. Annie has a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design from the College of Architecture, from Texas A&M University. She is a member of SMPS Program’s committee, WEN, the Texas A&M Real Estate Network, and the Houston Junior League.
